Sandown Raceway
Track Intelligence
Loading track layout...
Sandown Raceway has a classic “drag strip and braking zone” character, with big stops bookending long punches of full throttle, making it feel more brutal and binary than the twistier venues nearby. The lap really hinges on the high‑commitment sweepers in the middle and end of the lap: the fast left–right of corners 6 and 7 sets up the car’s balance for the back half, while the high‑speed right at corner 9 is the real lap time king, firing you into the heavy braking zone at corner 10. The flow swings from the tight, fiddly left-hand complex of corners 3 and 4 into a high-speed run through corners 5 to 7, then snaps back into a stop‑start rhythm at corners 8, 10 and 11, giving Sandown a distinct mix of old‑school straight-line pace and a few critical, high‑risk direction changes that define a quick lap.
