Phillip Island is a high-commitment, wind‑swept rollercoaster: big, flowing sweepers dominate the lap with just one proper pinch point in the low-speed, back‑to‑back rights at corners 6 and 7 that briefly breaks the rhythm. The opening right at corner 1 and the tight right at corner 11 are the lap’s anchors—one sets the early momentum through the fast left-hand cascade, the other dictates the entire run to the flag. Between them, the track surges through a brave left at 5, then bursts into the rapid 9–10 sequence before tightening again for the technical finish, rewarding cars that keep their speed up through the long arcs more than those relying on short, stop‑start bursts.
